Salt Licks and Bad Birds
All acrylic on canvas, 24" x 24", with a substrata of collage. Sweet, lively, soda pop pastel-- you've got to see them to believe them! The "Salt Licks" name was inspired by the notched and carved floating pieces. I grew up seeing cows and birds and very few people. Animals became prime players and invisible friends in my childhood story.... and still are. Inside the "carved" pieces, spattered collage forms from Matisse peek through.
